When it comes to splitboarding, your board's weight becomes even more important. The Burton Family Tree Flight Attendant X Splitboard uses an ultralight Dragonfly™ core and super-secret Mystery glass, making each step towards the promised land that much easier--something that gram-counting backcountry travelers will love. But this board isn't all about the skintrack, it's a snowboard first and foremost. When it's time to drop into the feature you woke up at 4am to reach, the FA X Split is responsive, fast, floaty, and fun. This board is tippy top tech from Burton.
Directional Camber – This board bend has entry rocker that adds lift to the nose while a camber section under both feet maintains momentum and stability through deep-driving turns and variable conditions. This bend caters to those who like the attributes of traditional camber but want something that will get up to speed and float easier in powder.
Directional Flex – This flex features increased pop in the tail and a more resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control through all terrain and conditions.
Directional | 10mm Taper – The classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition.
Balanced Freeride Geometry – Ending the twin vs. directional debate for creative rippers, this has a setback camber and a sidecut that is centered on your stance. This creates a freestyle feel when riding a flat base yet turns and floats like a directional deck.
Pro-Tip™ – A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.
FSC™ Certified Dragonfly™ 600G Core – Use of end-grain woods in impact zones allows Burton to swap heavier woods for lighter weight species without sacrificing strength.
Squeezebox – Burton's most versatile Squeezebox profile improves pop and performance through the balance of thicker, more powerful core sections with thinner, more flexible sections. Rider energy is transferred outward from beneath the feet, energizing the tip and tail while making the board snappier, more stable and easier to manipulate.
Mystery Glass – Using a formula from the future, this robotic-built complex carbon layup allows Burton to manipulate flex and feel while revolutionizing strength-to-weight.
Methlon – Ultra durable and low-maintenance, Burton's highest grade sintered base creates blistering speed that lasts all season.
Infinite Ride™ – This Burton-exclusive technology allows maximized pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks in the board for you. Whether you choose to ride Flat Top, Flying V™, or Camber, rest assured that with Infinite Ride™ your board will maintain its flex, pop, and feel from the first day forward, season after season.
Super Sap® Epoxy – A resin formulated with bio-based materials that reduces the carbon footprint by 50% over conventional all-petroleum-based epoxies. Less oil consumption means even less of a carbon footprint per board.
Split Channel System – The strongest, fastest, easiest, and most adjustable splitboard mounting system.
