The faster you ride, the easier it'll handle

"The Rome Rene-Gade is an absolute all mountain RIPPER. Not the most playful at slow speeds due to it's stiff build but in high speeds it's freestyle personality truly shines. The Rene-Gade will double any power you put into it so if you have a side hit or jump line in mind, send it to the absolute moon! It consistently holds an edge with a damp sensation underfoot in rough snow and stable at those higher speeds. Are you a freestyle speed demon looking for maximum air time? Behold the Rome Rene-Gade."

Great expert board for all mountain riding and

"This was a really fun board for charging down the mountain. Powers through firm snow and ice and floats on powder. Would like try a size up next time"

Certainly an aggressive board that would suit the rider that wants to throw down from the top ropes

"I definitely could have sized up but 156 was the only one available. Even at a shorter size though this things rips. Felt right at home blazing at high speeds and keeping chatter limited when coming to a stop. The few cat tracks I was able to throw myself off of I felt that landings were solid. The board is really responsive and had a great snap to it when pressing. Although conditions limited me to soft groomers, I can see what potential this board brings to the table"

Pros

  • High-Speed Performance: The board excels at high speeds, offering stability and control, making it ideal for riders who enjoy going fast.

  • Freestyle Capabilities: Its stiff build translates to exceptional performance in freestyle riding, allowing for maximum air time on jumps and side hits.

  • Edge Hold and Dampening: It consistently holds an edge in rough snow and provides a damp sensation underfoot, contributing to a smoother ride.

Cons

  • Not Playful at Slow Speeds: Due to its stiff build, the board is less playful and maneuverable at slower speeds, which might not suit all riders.

  • Limited Versatility in Soft Conditions: While it performs well in various conditions, its potential is not fully realized in softer, groomed snow where more playful boards might excel.

Who Is It For?

The 2025 Rome Rene-Gade is best suited for expert riders who crave high-speed performance and enjoy freestyle riding. This board shines when pushed to its limits, making it ideal for those who thrive on speed and seek maximum air time on jumps and side hits. Its stiff build provides exceptional stability and edge hold, making it perfect for charging down the mountain and tackling firm snow and ice. However, riders who prefer a more playful board at slower speeds or primarily ride in softer, groomed conditions might find the Rene-Gade less suited to their style.
