Sure, you can enjoy camping without a chair. But just because you can do something doesn’t always mean you should. A big part of the magic of camping is slowing down, relaxing in nature, staying still, and watching the world move around you. And to do that comfortably, a lightweight, packable camping chair is a great item to bring camping. Don’t worry though, these aren’t anything like the clunky, heavy chairs that your parents used to haul to your soccer games. Camping chairs have come a long way, and this list represents the best camping chairs on the market right now.
All of the chairs on this list collapse down into easily carried packages. They might not be the best choice for ultralight fastpacking, but they’re easy to bring along on day hikes or set up at your campsite. But that doesn’t mean that all of these chairs fit the same needs. Instead, they cover a broad spectrum of uses. Looking for something light and minimalist, there are plenty of options on this list. But, if you want to go for something a little heavier with more features and extra comfort, for example, car camping, well, we’ve got chairs that fit that bill too. Camping chairs are a personal thing, and we’ve got options to make everyone happy. So grab one of the best chairs for camping, and get ready to unwind in the woods.

Hey there! My name is Jack Mace, and I am the camp buyer for evo. I grew up in Washington and spent most of my childhood summers on the water or in the mountains, which drove my passion for fun activities such as camping. I attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, which provides plenty of excellent camping locations, such as Larrabee State Park or Silver Lake. Then, I moved back to the Seattle area and worked as a sailing instructor for several years at my cousin’s rental shop on Lake Union before joining the evo family in 2012.
At evo, I started on the customer service team and worked my way onto the merchandising team, which gave me the opportunity to integrate my passion and love for the outdoors into a career as the Camp Buyer. I still reside in the Seattle area with my wife, Katie, and two sons, Wes and Carter.
