Performance touring boots have always been a compromise. Either they skied well, but were heavy and had limited range of motion or they were reasonably light and powerful but had a "digital" flex - either on or off. Not any longer. The new Salomon MTN Lab Alpine Touring Ski Boots combine a weight of 1550 grams in a 26.5 with a super clean, 2 buckle design and a smooth progressive flex that compares favorably with any alpine boot. Add Salomon's Motion Flex technology for a climbing mode with a super 47˚ range of motion and a clean, out of the way locking lever that fits under your pants, and you've got a boot that's right for heavy hitters and long haulers alike - just ask Greg Hill.
Last: 98 mm – Precision fit 98 mm forefoot with average instep height.
Flex: 120 – A stiff flex for experienced skiers.
Custom Fit 3D Liner | 100% Thermo Foam – Full thermoformable 3D liner with two loops.
Sensifit Shell – Strong and light shell design built with thinner walls to reduce weight, reinforced in strategic areas to avoid blowing out the shell when flexing forward on hard turns.
Lower Shell – Grilamid+
Cuff – Pebax
Spine – Carbon Fiber
24 mm Oversized Pivot – Reduced play for extreme precision and direct power transmission. Because many modern all mountain skis are wider, they require more torque to stay on edge. Oversized Pivot answers the need of wider skis.
Motion Flex – The touring cuff's spine is made of carbon and composite fiber allowing for a 47˚ range of motion when skinning while guaranteeing a true and progressive alpine flex.
Surelock Ski / Walk Mechanism – Low profile lever is located at the same level as the upper buckle and can be undone in the same movement. Maximum cuff release for touring and secure lock for skiing down. Horizontal positioning for mechanical reliability. Independent from the cuff buckle for more convenience when touring.
2 Light Micro Adjusting Buckles
Light 50 mm Velcro Power Strap
ISO 9523 Touring Sole – Rockered sole with grip pads and tech fittings; not compatible with many alpine ISO 5355 bindings.
Compatible with Tech & Most Frame AT Bindings
