A sharply lethal compact design that's meant to be ridden shorter than your normal board, the Weston Hatchet Snowboard makes mincemeat of difficult conditions with its ultrawide platform, a lighter mostly Paulownia core, and tons of carbon fiber. Mid-stiff, super floaty, and with legit power in the clinches, the Hatchet lets you cut your own path and never look back.
Twin Powder Camber – Symmetric reverse-camber tip and tails provide maximum float in deep snow, while giving the ability to land or ride switch. A mild camber underfoot provides stability and control.
Flex Rating – 7 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)
Twinish / Volume Shifted – This board is designed to be ridden shorter while providing comparable float and near-twin ride. The surface area of a larger board but in a smaller size creates more float with easier maneuverability but slightly reduced edge hold.
56% Paulownia / 44% Poplar Wood Core – Sustainably harvested, the blend keeps the board powerful, light, and nimble.
Tri-Axe Glass – Multi-axis, stitched fiberglass laminate that offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow conditions.
S-Weave Carbon – This advanced weaving of carbon through the core creates more pop.
Carbon Fiber Stringers – Stringers running the length of the board increase stiffness throughout. By placing them near the center, the board doesn’t become overly stiff torsionally, making for easy turn initiation. They also allow for equivalent stiffness with less core material needed, reducing overall weight.
Polyurethane – Polyurethane is poured during construction to form a single, unified piece of sidewall wrapping around the entire core for increased strength and durability. Because of this process, it also creates less waste material than other sidewall options.
Sintered Durasurf 4001 – The gold standard in bases. The 4000-series sintered bases have a higher density than other options on the market, and are therefore more durable. Additionally, it absorbs more wax, making for a faster and smoother ride. 4000-series PTEX is usually reserved for only top-of-the-line boards due to a higher manufacturing cost, but at Weston it’s the minimum standard.
Castor Bean Based Rugged Nylon – Polymide is eco friendly and made from castor beans. The topsheet is durable and resistant to scratches and scuffs.
