Touring for powder turns is one of the best experiences in life, and having the right ski is key to enjoying it. When you're looking for the ultimate in lightweight pow performance, the Völkl VTA 108 Skis are strictly MONEY. At only 1560 grams in the 173 length and featuring a 141-108-124 profile, these things go both uphill and downhill with the best. Pow days with a stable snowpack don't come along all that often; make the most of them with the VTA 108.
Tip Rocker – For all-mountain skiing and even racing on narrower ski designs, the combination of an early rise tip and a classic camber profile in the rest of the ski provides easy, smooth turn entry regardless of conditions. The ski is forgiving playful, and easy to handle.
VTA Superlight Outline – Gram-cheating outline at tip and tail saves weight.
Moderate Taper – Moderate setup of tapered tips for an all mountain oriented combination of precision on piste and easy handling off piste.
Tourlite Woodcore – The combination of Beech under the binding and Poplar plus Paulownia in the outer areas results in a very lightweight woodcore construction which works especially well for touring skis.
ICE.OFF Topsheet – The unique surface structure and material composition reduces icing as the snow simply slides off the topsheet. This leads to a drastic reduction of weight in use, on average up to 20% to 30%. In addition, mainly white graphics support the anti-icing effect. Lighter skis prevent fatigue, especially on long and steep uphill sections.
Carbon.Tip – Tip material layup for high reliability/stability at the lightest possible weight.
Cap Construction – Durable construction with topsheet wrapping over the full woodcore.
P-Tex 2100 Base – A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.
SkinPin – A skin fastening system that is magnificent in its simplicity: perfect fixation and easy to use; full functionality without unnecessary bells and whistles. The skin is attached by inserting its pin through a shaped hole in the shovel of the ski. The skin is then rotated 90° to lock it in place. Once rotated the skin fixation is 100% reliably secured. The system can be monitored by the skier from above at any time to provide visual peace of mind. The hole in the tip of the ski is also helpful for building a rescue toboggan in an emergency.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
