The Dynafit Beast 108 Skis have been a top dog in the freetouring world since they took over for the equally popular Chugach skis a few years back. They ski well in variable conditions, making them a great companion to burlier hybrid touring bindings for double duty in and out of bounds. But they're still Dynafit skis, so they're meant for the backcountry, with SpeedSkin clips and a low weight that will have you smiling on the skin track and hootin' and hollerin' on the way down.

Rocker Type
Full Double Ellipse Rocker – The two elliptical curves at the waist and at the curve of the rocker work in tandem. Depending on the effect of pressure placed on the binding area, you get varying edge length ideal for each situation. This guarantees optimal edging on icy steep terrain without losing the playful lightness in turn initiation and control.
Sidecut
Single Radius Sidecut – Harmonious sidecut to guarantee balanced skiing qualities.
Core
Ash / Poplar Ride Core – By combining the high strength of ash with particularly lightweight poplar, Dynafit created a highly responsive core with outstanding damping properties and rebound without giving up lightness. This has a particularly positive effect on power transfer to the edges and cuts down on chatter at high speeds.
Laminates
Full Carbon Tip – A special carbon core in the tip reduces mass to optimize vibration and damping qualities.
Sidewalls
Full Sidewall – Using impact-resistant ABS along the entire length of the ski edge from the steel edge to the top coating guarantees maximum force absorption. In addition, direct binding-to-ski power transfer at the edge is optimized thanks to this design.

These skis are typically light for their width and many feature fittings that accept climbing skins. AT skis vary in width and weight, with the wider heavier versions usually used for winter/deep snow touring and the skinnier, lighter skis usually used for spring/summer/long distance touring.

Rocker Rocker (also called reverse-camber) is just as it sounds – camber turned upside down. Rocker skis have a side profile with a smooth downward curvature and a contact point at the middle of the ski. Rocker skis excel in deep powder. This profile provides the skis with less tip and tail hang up to prevent from catching edges and allows the skis to initiate turns extremely quickly. This profile doesn’t perform as well in icy conditions or on harder snow but if you spend lots of time in deep, untracked snow and like a more playful ski, Rocker is a great choice.
