Freeride to freestyle, the Bataleon ThunderStorm Snowboard is ready for hard-charging days in the resort and the backcountry. The low camber profile speeds through powder and won't punish you on chiller days, and premium DST carbon tubes and stringers bring the explosive pop you need to gap the bergshrund. A medium-high blend of Sidekick uplift is the secret to hardpack and powder performance, making the Thunderstorm a true force to be reckoned with.

Rocker Type
Low Camber – Camber profiles are defined from low to high. Higher camber make for more dynamic boards that need to be ridden more aggressively to get maximum performance. Lower camber boards are smoother on lower speeds and in powder. All camber profiles run from nose to tail. higher is not always better...

Flex Rating – 6 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)
Shape
High Nose Sidebase Uplift – The gradual side base uplift in the nose determines how the board will behave on snow. most effected are the edge to edge performance and the uplift generated when riding powder.
Medium Tail Sidebase Uplift – The gradual side base uplift in the tail determines how the board will behave on snow. Any amount of uplift brings all the benefits of Triple Base Technology making Bataleon boards more versatile than others.
Core
Light Core – 50-50 paulownia and poplar woods blend for optimal strength to weight properties.
Laminates
Tri-Ax Laminate – The three-way fibreglass weave is light, strong and crazy responsive. This is used to beef up the flex pattern on more aggressive boards.
Dual Super Tubes – Dual Super Tubes are two hollow carbon core upgrades that are inserted into the core. The hollow carbon tubes greatly increase the woodcore’s pop and reduce weight.
Carbon Stringers – Carbon is feather light and adds explosive pop, precise edge control, reactive response and smooth dampening to a board. Bataleon uses this to beef up the flex pattern.
Sidewalls
Solid Walls – Tried and trusted ABS sidewalls for the best flex to strength ratio.
Base
Ultra Glide S Base – A premium, 7000-grade sintered base reserved for high-end models. Packing more molecules into the P-tex means it’s super tough and hauls ass.

They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice. Powder Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.

Camber Camber is the traditional profile for snowboards, and still popular among high-level park and pipe riders because it offers maximum energy and pop. A cambered board has a smooth arch underfoot and touches near the tip and tail when unweighted; when the rider’s weight is added, it provides a long, evenly pressured running surface and edge.

Medium The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
