Burton Ion Snowboard Boots 2011: In an era when double corks and triple digit airs are the norm, it’s no wonder more Burton (and non Burton) pros choose the Burton Ion Snowboard Boots. Always at the forefront of innovation, this year’s edition features the latest in quick-drying liner science and padding that completely encompasses your foot. Now even easier to lace, the Burton Ion Snowboard Boot also features the heightened board feel of an EST™ midsole with cushioning that can be adjusted according to terrain or conditions.
Flex Rating: 8 (1 Soft – 10 Stiff) The firm flex thin profile 3D molded tongue controls allows you to adjust the profile of the tongue’s thickness to control its flex, enhances its ability to wrap the forefoot, and reduce shell/liner stack-up for improved comfort. Offered in soft, medium, and firm flexing options based on the ride of each boot. The power spine backstays fine-tune medial/lateral support, edge to edge response, and durability.
The Burton Ion Snowboard Boots have a Level 3 Molded EVA Footbed that provides lightweight and long-lasting shock absorption. It also has an ESS Support Shank, Dual-Density Cushioning, and Aegis™ Antimicrobial Coating.
The Imprint™ 4 Liner with DryRide Moisture wicking technology insulates and regulates warmth by pulling moisture away from your skin, then evaporating it through a waterproof/breathable shell membrane. Like a one-way door, the microscopic pores in this membrane allow moisture vapors to escape, while water droplets from the outside can’t enter.
The Pressure Relief Panel is ultra-soft gel cushioning that is fused to the area where the ankle strap rests on the boot to evenly distribute pressure when your straps are cranked tight.
