K2 obSETHed Skis 2011: Bigger and even better in 2011. Seth incorporated Powder Rocker to create the ultimate tool to charge big mountains, backcountry zones and the resorts. The Powder Rocker design eliminates tip dive and breaks through crud, crusts and chopped up conditions. The progressive sidecut and camber underfoot makes the K2 obSETHed Ski a ski for all conditions and terrain, combining precise turn initiation on hardpack snow with an easy tail release in soft conditions too. That’s Seth looking out for the masses!
Unlike other categories in the K2 line, the twin tips are designed to perform both forward and switch. The K2 obSETHed Skis also have a progressive sidecut, which guarantees improved turn initiation and hard snow performance
Powder Rocker Tip – Designed for deep snow, the tip has the most elevation and the longest measurement of rocker and offers skiers a “surfy” feel with enhanced soft-snow performance. The camber region still exists to ensure edge-hold on firmer conditions
All Terrain Rocker Tail – Features an elevated tip for variable and soft-snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy and edge-hold in firmer conditions.
The new Twin Tip Specific construction of TwinTech increases the durability of sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90 degree angle where the top material and sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction actually rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse. K2 uses ABS sidewalls because of the dense characteristics and impact toughness that not only aid in the direct transmission of power but also make it very durable and resistant to moisture.

Triaxial braiding in the core consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. The patented machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, while maintaining the lively flex patterns of the wood core.
