A true all-rounder that shines everywhere from the trees to the groomed to the park, the Faction CT 2.0x Skis sit right on the sweet spot for waist width at 102mm. That means they're respectable in pow, respectable on corduroy, and not too bulky to throw some sick tricks in the park. Faction keeps the weight down with a lightweight Poplar core, but everywhere else this ski is built to perform and last like the rest of the Candide line.
330mm Tip Rocker / 2mm Camber / 295mm Tail Rocker
Candide Thovex Signature Flex – The living legend is never not tinkering, tweaking, learning, improving. Thovex is adamant that heavy rocker is best complemented by solid, stiffer tips and tails — to help settle the skis and power through variable snow. Additionally, the stiff tips absorb more vibration when skiers touch down after going airborne. Just add a touch more flex under foot and it allows the skis to load up and POP on request. Welcome to the Candide Thovex Signature Flex.
Flex Rating – 7 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)
Elliptical Sidecut – Made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski. The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tail results in seamless turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turn lengths and angles.
Candide Thovex Signature Shape – Moderately tapered tips and tails are complemented by an Elliptical Sidecut for efficient, precise handling and carving. A combination of generous rocker and modest camber results in a wonderfully playful character, injecting new energy into an otherwise routine day on the mountain. For the increasingly popular category of high-performance all-mountain skis with freestyle flair, a new benchmark has been set.
Directional Twin – A considerably skinnier tail width than the tip provides ultimate downhill performance for attacking the mountain. A twin tip in the tail encourages playfulness and freestyle attitude, meaning you can ride switch without problem.
Lightweight Poplar Core – When loads of Poplar come into the factory, they weigh them and separate them into light, medium and heavy - the light batches go into these cores, retaining the stout performance levels that make Poplar so "popular" as ski cores but with a touch less weight.
Anti-Chip Micro Cap – A hybrid of a premium sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski's topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile joint that can be prone to chipping.
Full Strength Sidewall – This construction places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the wood core, edges and topsheet from impacts and outside damage.
XL 2.5mm Edges – Extra edge thickness gives the skier a pair of skis that absorb shock and impact much better than skis with standard edges. The result is a ski with a much higher life expectancy.
Scratch Resistant Topsheet
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
