Blizzard is coming out firing with the new Phoenix series of frontside carving tools, and the Blizzard Phoenix R13 CA Skis + TPC11 W Bindings are a prime example. If you thought 76mm was a "beginner" waist width, think again - the best carvers in the world (racers) are all on 65mm skis, and mid-seventies is actually a great all-round waist width for firm snow. The difference is that the Phoenix skis are made for advanced skiers, and embody all the features Blizzard's expert all-mountain skis have made famous, like their Trueblend wood core. The Phoenix skis use several women-specific design features like lighter wood in the core and an adjusted binding mount point to fine tune the line to female anatomies, and the results are spectacular.

Special Light Construction – As specified by Blizzard's W2W design team, particular attention has been made to the choice of the materials, glue and 3D shaping in the Phoenix line to have the lightest construction combined with swing weight optimization.

Carving For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries. All-Mountain All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.

Rocker/Camber/Rocker Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as well as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
