Kodiak chopping function: The shovel scoop is slid onto the shaft at a 90° angle. Thus aluminum fits on aluminum – a virtually indestructible constellation. The chopping action significantly supports the rescue of buried victims with two or more helpers. Strategic switching between the shovel position and chopping action (removal of snow) can save power and time considerably.

Sanded grip: The shovel fits better in the hand by the sanded grip. Power is transferred to the shovel scoop directly, as the hand doesn't slip from the shaft
