When you stick your feet in Birkenstock Arizona Suede Soft Footbed Sandals, you'll understand why they call it a footbed. Your feet will be resting in dreamland while you step all over town.
Suede Leather Upper – Suede is the sand-buffed flesh part of the skin after split. It has a velour touch and feel making it comfortable, durable and providing it with optimum moisture absorption properties.
Cork Footbed – Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and offers very good cushioning.
Leather Lining – The flexible leather lining, which is gentle on the skin, nestles up softly against your foot and adjusts to its contour. The open-pored and thus very breathable surface makes for a comfortable foot climate, even during more strenuous physical activity.
EVA Outsole – EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very light, elastic material with extremely good cushioning. As a result, it smooths out slight irregularities in the floor and ensures that every step is softly cushioned.
Soft Footbed – A foam layer is inserted between the cork layer and the suede liner of the original Birkenstock footbed. Millions of microscopic air bubbles cushion your feet.
Two Straps, Each With an Individually Adjustable Metal Tongue Buckle
Deep Heel Cup – The very deep molding in the heel area supports the foot tissue and holds the heel bone firmly in it's natural position. This provides the foot with nearly as much support when it is in a sandal as when it is in a closed shoe.
Interior and Exterior Longitudinal Arch Supports – The arch supports that run alongside the side of the footbed surrounding the tarsal bones inside and out. This gives the foot the stability it needs when it takes a step.
Footbed Edge – The footbed is drawn up especially high at the front. As a result, the high footbed edge protects the toes during the rolling motion of the foot.
Heel Mould – Activates the calf muscles, stabilizes the back of the foot and improves gait and coordination.
Transverse Arch Support – The support that runs through the middle of the footbed stabilizes the metatarsal bone. In this way, the transverse arch support helps ensure that the foot has a naturally straight and solid stance.
Toe Grip – There are raised indentations at the front footbed near the toes. Thanks to the toe grip the toes remain loose and spread out in their natural position. The indentations also support the natural rolling motion of the toes.
