The Marin Hawk Hill 3 Complete Mountain Bike should have an all-caps clickbait title over it in every pic: "the bike your friends' bikes don't want you to know about!" This is the rare case of too-good-to-be-true actually being true. A strong favorite of everyone who rides it, and a unanimous favorite to everyone who buys it, the Hawk Hill 3 is what happens when a company just nails it. This trail bike can hang with the best bikes on the planet, with an unassailable rip-to-dollars ratio.
Series 3 6061 Double Butted Aluminum Frame – From its advanced tube forms, threaded bottom bracket, and full internal cable routing, this frame leaves nothing to chance. It's made to exacting standards with today's best technology.
MultiTrac Suspension Technology – MultiTrac is an acclaimed suspension system, fine-tuned to have a balanced ride capable of absorbing big hits with an efficient pedaling platform. The rocker link provides a progressive leverage ratio for the rear shock for small bump sensitivity and the feeling of a long travel system on large drops and rocks.
Fox Float DPS Performance Rear Shock – For a lightweight, inline shock, the DPS packs a lot of performance. The Dual Piston Base Valve has dedicated compression and rebound pistons, providing a firm lockout without compromising bump compliance, ride control, or efficiency. Performance Series FLOAT DPS shocks have fewer adjustments than Factory Series (no Open mode adjust tuning range), and have black anodized air sleeve and body instead of Genuine Kashima Coat. A Performance graphics package ties in the black-on-black look.
Shock Adjustments – Lever Actuated Open, Medium, Firm Modes / Rebound Adjust / Air Spring Pressure
148x12mm Boost Thru-Axle
Marzocchi Bomber Z2 – Marzocchi Bomber Z2 - Ready to shred with smooth and plush suspension. The new from-the-ground-up Rail damper combines low maintenance with intuitive ease of use and impressive on-trail performance. The top-of-fork simple sweep adjuster from firm to open can lock out the fork or fully open the system with plenty of positions in between.
Fork Adjustments – Open to Firm Sweep Adjuster / Rebound / Air Spring Pressure
Shimano SLX – This is everything you need and nothing you don't. Featuring tech from their XT and XTR groupsets, SLX offers consistent and reliable high performance, all at a lower price.
Shimano MT420 4 Piston Hydraulic Disc – The BR-MT420 caliper features consistent braking performance and reliable stopping power in all conditions. The 4-piston caliper instills greater downhill confidence and control.
Rotors – 203mm Front / 180mm Rear
Double Wall Alloy Rims on Shimano 410 Hubs – These wheels roll fast and smooth, with Shimano Microspline hubs and 32 spokes. Their double walled rims fight dings and dents, and at 29mm wide they're a perfect match for aggressive tread.
Maxxis Assegai Tires – A beefy DH tire that's been a fave since it was released, the Assegai is great in the front or rear of a hard charging setup. It has big blocky knobs that maximize grip in all conditions.
