The Giro Merit Spherical MIPS® is jam-packed with features to cover your head on rowdy rides. Spherical Technology combined with MIPS® offers premium protection by mitigating rotational energy with Progressive Layering™ EPS and EPP foam for different impact speeds. Wind tunnel vents keep the air flowing and the Roc Loc® Air Fit system ensures a dialed fit for the ultimate protective performance.
In-Mold Polycarbonate Shell
EPS and EPP Liner
Hardshell with In-Mold Hardbody™ Lower Wrap – The two-piece shell combines a tough outer hard shell with a polycarbonate lower shell permanently fused to the liner for durability without excess weight.
Progressive Layering™ – Two different materials are used to manage impact energy: One layer is EPS, which is well suited to high-speed crashes. The other is a lower density EPP foam with rebound characteristics that address the more common, low speed impacts.
Roc Loc® Air DH – Adjustable fit system enhances the helmet's comfort, stability, and interior ventilation while reducing the chances of accidental adjustment.
Wind Tunnel™ Ventilation – Giro helmets are developed utilizing the proprietary Wind Tunnel™ ventilation system, which combines active vents with internal exhaust channels that thrust cool, fresh air over and around the riders head-while forcing heat and stale air out. This significant increase in air channeling makes a difference that riders will immediately feel and appreciate.
MIPS® Spherical – MIPS® Spherical is a pair of foam layers that work like a ball and socket to redirect impact energy in a crash. The system uses two distinct layers of foam within the helmet, rather than a single layer of foam and plastic liner. One layer is EPS, which is well suited to high-speed crashes. The other is a lower density EPP foam with rebound characteristics that offer protection in low speed impacts.
Adjustable Moto-Style Screw-In Visor – This visor features an adjustment mechanism that lets you move the visor up and down in indexed steps. These steps include three riding positions plus a high position for goggle storage above your brow, allowing you to easily adjust your visor with one hand while riding.
