Beauty and brains. The Scott Genius 950 Complete Mountain Bike is a stunner on trail, with pleasing lines all over the place--you'll never get tired of looking at it. Riding it is even better somehow, especially when you get in-tune with Scott's TwinLoc suspension system, which allows you to change its travel and ride characteristics on the fly. Lock it out for slogging up hours-long climbs, flip it open for all-out descents. Keep it in the middle for a balanced ride on rolling terrain. Bikes are expensive, so getting three for the price of one makes a ton of sense!
Genius Alloy SL 6011 Frame
Evo-Lap Carbon Technology – Thanks to this extensive computer modeling, Scott optimized the carbon layers in all the parts of the frame. When the parts were bonded together in the first prototypes, the result was a super light and compact frame without sacrificing the stiffness, comfort or impact resistance. This allows them to make the most efficient layup possible.
Genius Trail Geometry – Compared to the previous iteration, this one is slacker, has longer reach, shorter chainstays and a steeper seat angle. We really wanted geometry figures that would balance out the long front end for more stable descending. What they've ended up with is a bike that climbs like a bat out of hell and gets you down the mountain faster than you can say "dropping!"
SW Dropouts – These dropouts are designed to be integrated on the thru-axle system thanks to a hollow tubular design that allows a simple and lightweight structure. Available for SRAM and Shimano DM derailleurs, this dropout increases the stiffness and avoids damage to the frame in case of impacts on the rear derailleur.
TwinLoc Suspension System – With TwinLoc, a rider can effectively control the complete frame, fork, and shock as a system. Why does this matter? A bike with 150mm of suspension travel, correctly set up, has more sag than a bike with 130mm. It's that extra travel that makes it more fun to ride and more capable on the descents, but the greater sag has an oversized effect on the bike's geometry and climbing performance. That's where TwinLoc matters. Via a handlebar remote, you can choose from three bikes in one!
On Frame, Two Wheel Sizes – This model can switch from 27.5" to 29" wheels with nothing more than the flip of a chip. No need to change the fork, all you need to do is flip a shock mount chip, change your wheels and off you go. The flip chip allows Scott to maintain a similar BB height when switching from one wheel size to the other which is key to keeping handling similar for both wheel sizes.
X-Fusion NUDE Rear Shock – With new seal designs and materials chosen to optimize performance and increase durability, this shock is known for excellent small-bump sensitivity and overall efficiency.
Shock Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Open, Medium, Firm Compression Modes / Rebound
Marzocchi Bomber Z2 – The Z2 just makes everything easy. You simply mount it on your bike and hit the trails: less time prepping and fixing mean you can focus on the ride. The new from the ground up Rail damper combines low maintenance with intuitive ease of use and impressive on-trail performance.
Fork Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Sweep Compression to Lockout / Rebound
SRAM NX Eagle – Whether you're discovering the mountain for the first time or you're an MTB lifer searching for a no-nonsense, no-worries 1x drivetrain, SRAM NX Eagle is ready for action and ready to take you there. NX Eagle brings you a wide range of gear choices engineered for simplicity and durability, so you can focus on what matters most-the ride ahead.
Shimano 4-Piston – The system adopts a power transfer system in which the disc brake rotor is pressed by the smaller sized piston at the entrance of the disc brake rotor intake and also by the more powerful larger sized piston at the back. This prevents the wobbling motion of the disc brake rotor and reduces noises significantly. The 4-piston caliper also allows a wider contact area for the disc brake rotor while keeping the size compact, and the efficient location of pads is adjusted as necessary to stabilize the pressure.
Shimano RT-30 Rotors – 203mm Front / 180mm Rear
Syncros X-30S Tubeless Ready Rims
Maxxis Rekon Rear Tire – Wide knobs down the middle provide control under braking and L-shaped side knobs assure support when carving loose turns. With confidence like this you can race more and scout less with the Rekon.
Maxxis Dissector Front Tire – Designed in conjunction with Aussie DH racer Troy Brosnan, the Dissector seeks to minimize drag while retaining cornering control.
