Trails have a way of surprising you. Maybe it's an uncomfortable turn that shows up too fast after a blind roll, maybe it's a surprise squall that turns a dusty rock garden into the worst waterslide ever. Having a powerful four-piston solution like the SRAM G2 R Disc Brake at the ready will let you breathe. This has enough power to bring any bike under a control, while still being lightweight and easy to use with one finger. You'll see the G2 series on bikes of all genres, they really are that versatile.
Power Reserve Geometry – These levers were designed with the lowest X Factor (the distance from the center of the handlebar to the center of the lever's pivot) for a reduced inward travel. This creates an arc that's closer to your fingers' natural motion, delivering more power to the lever.
DirectLink™ – SRAM's DirectLink lever design produces a solid, positive feel the second you squeeze the lever to engage the brake. It offers a no-nonsense solution to give you precise control.
Heat Shield – The stainless steel heat shields breaks the thermal connection between the pad and caliper body, reducing caliper fluid temperature by about 20C even in the most extreme testing conditions.
Matchmaker™ Compatible – This system holds SRAM shifters and RockShox PushLoc controls all with one tidy, light clamp.
Reach Adjust – Brake lever fit and feel is a personal thing. Riders have individual positioning preferences, as well as unique hand sizes and finger lengths. Reach Adjust makes it easy to adjust your lever for maximum one-finger control for everyone.
Timing Port Closure – A hydraulic brake’s timing port is the connection between the reservoir and the master cylinder bore. When the lever is squeezed, a cup seal passes this area and closes the port, which pressurizes the system. SRAM’s new timing port closure system features durable seals and an ultra-smooth cylinder bore finish, producing dependable braking power and consistency.
Expandable Bladder – SRAM's new brake lever design includes a reshaped bladder that helps regulate and reduce air bubbles. The bladder is specifically shaped to evacuate air from the lever and push the fluid exactly where it's needed. The result is improved back-pressure relief, which produces dependable braking power and consistency.
Lever Pivot Bearings – Precision sealed bearings at the lever point enhance the clean, crisp lever actuation and consistent, light, one-finger feel.
Contact Point Adjustment – Pick the position you want your fingers to be in when your brakes are engaged. This is a quick and easy way to customize the feel fo your brakes without having to move your pads, and to balance the levers to feel exactly the same.
Brake Lever Actuation – Hydraulic
Blade Material – Stamped Aluminum

S4 Lightweight 4-Piston Caliper – This all new S4 Caliper features four machined and moly-coated aluminum pistons for consistent rollback and easy setup.
