The Fritschi Diamir Vipec 12 Alpine Touring Ski Bindings, often referred to as the "Vipec Black," include several worthy refinements that set them apart from the original Vipec. With a gliding heel, toe wings that release laterally and TÜV certified DIN range, the Vipec 12 is designed to crush the uphills and perform like an alpine binding on the way down. New for 2017 are revised step in guide tabs with much improved ease of stepping in. Your ticklist is calling, and the Vipec 12 heeds the call.
Front Lateral Release – When a skier falls, the lateral forces will act in front where the ski is controlled. In conventional pin bindings the boot is released in the back via a rotating heel unit. The boot is not released unless the clamping mechanism in the front is pushed open.
Pin Tech Toe – Defined front lateral release in both ski and walk mode for skiing and avalanche terrain.
Step-In Guides – The boot is placed in the step-in position by means of guiding aids, where the pins can be properly engaged in the inserts via a locking mechanism.
Easy Switch Toe – Changes between ski and walk mode without stepping out of the binding.
Integrated Dynamic Range
Stable, Non-Rotating Heel – In downhill skiing, the higher forces are transmitted in the back. Similar to alpine bindings, the force acting vertically in the turns is transmitted to a stable heel unit. This prevents a loss of power or unwanted releases caused by rotational movements of the heel unit as in conventional pin bindings. The ski always remains on track.
Gliding Heel Piece – Allows for active length compensation as the ski flexes and predefined release.
Easy Switch Heel – Changes between ski and walk mode without stepping out of the binding.
Integrated Dynamic Range
Brakes Included
Three-Level Heel Riser – The three ergonomically synchronized walk mode levels can also be changed in no time with a pole.
Micro-Adjustable Width Wings – Help compatability with any model tech insert.
TÜV Certified according to ISO/DIN 13992
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
