Rippin Chix
Alison Gannett, a World Champion Extreme Freeskier founded Rippin Chix ski clinics in 2001. With her reputation as an all-around badass she received requests to help others improve their skiing. She saw an opportunity to use her network of fellow female free-ski competitors, sponsors and skill in the mountains to help empower and build confidence in women's skiing and to be more proficient at skiing on steeper off-piste and gnarlier terrain. She began hosting free-skiing camps at some of her favorite mountains. Also, a passionate mountain biker, she saw that the style of coaching used in the ski camps had relevance for biking too. The Rippin Chix movement was born, expanding the mountain playground on skis and bikes for more and more women.
Alison has since passed on the torch and this movement continues with our amazing collective of coaches. Each of our coaches have a deep range of experiences in the mountains, from all types of competition to ski-racing to ski-mountaineering to filming, we live as skiers. We recognize that to perform consistently at a high level requires a lot of understanding of how to move through terrain. It is our passion to share this knowledge through our women's ski clinics and see our campers find transformation of their skills and enjoy a pivotal experience in the mountains.
