For the rider who wants a do-it-all board

"I'm a freestyle rider who likes to jib in the park and all around the mountain. Not only was this board sick in the park, but side hits were on point too. The 154 for my height and weight was perfect. Super maneuverable while still being stiff enough to handle what i threw at it."

High speeds have never felt so easy

"A freeride board emerging from a street/freestyle brand just doesn't sound possible, right? But Public delivers with arguably one of the top boards of the year. The Public Research handles highway speeds like a Cadillac on a family road trip, as smooth as possible. The power this board delivers is immediately noticeable the second you strap in without being overly intimidating. The power of the board works for your rather then requiring more of you, easily accessible pop with a fluid edge to edge transition."

Impressive!

"I'm 5'9 and 185 pounds and this board felt just right! I rode it at mission ridge with wide open fast groomers. The board could lay down a carve and didn't feel super chattery at high speeds. You feel like you get back what you put into the board from top to bottom of the run! And as a more directional shaped board the switch riding will surprise you!"

Pros

  • Versatility: The board excels in various terrains and conditions, offering exceptional performance in the park, on side hits, and at high speeds.

  • Stability at High Speeds: Handles highway speeds smoothly, providing a comfortable and controlled ride, even at high velocities.

  • Maneuverability: The board is super maneuverable, making it easy to handle and perfect for riders who enjoy jibbing and freestyle moves.

Cons

  • Directional Shape: While the board performs well in switch riding, its more directional shape might not be ideal for riders who prefer a twin-tip design.

  • Stiffness: The board's stiffness, while providing stability, might be too much for beginners or those looking for a softer, more forgiving ride.

  • Weight Sensitivity: Heavier riders might need to be more precise with their input to fully benefit from the board's responsive nature.

Who Is It For?

The 2025 Public Snowboards Research is best suited for advanced to expert riders who appreciate a versatile and high-performance board that excels in freestyle, freeride, and all-mountain conditions. Ideal for those who enjoy high-speed stability and responsive handling, this board is perfect for snowboarders looking to push their limits on various terrains. While it performs exceptionally well for switch riding, its directional shape might not appeal to those who prefer a true twin-tip board. Additionally, the board's stiffness may be a bit much for beginners or riders seeking a softer, more forgiving ride.
