The Lowdown

The new Enforcer 99 keeps the story going with subtle updates that enhance the classic Enforcer feel. A refined shape with vibration damping core technology and a goldilocks waist width mean this ski will tackle anything the resort throws at you. Whether you’re arcing turns on groomers, zipping down your favorite bump run, or dipping into the trees to find the remains of yesterday’s pow, the Enforcer 99 is still king of the resort.

Ride Impressions

I rode the Enforcer 99 in the 185cm length, mounted at the factory recommended line. As a stiffer, more directional ski, I thought this would feel a little long for my 5’10” height, so I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t kick my butt right out of the gate. Instead, the first impression was one of supreme balance.

This is one of those skis that feels intuitive from the get go, putting you right in the sweet spot for turn initiation and overall maneuverability. Turns are easy to initiate with a little pressure at the front of the boot, and edge-hold feels firm and consistent through the duration of the turn. More tail rocker can sometimes lead to washed out turns and a general sense of vagueness on edge, but there’s no sign of that here – the Enforcer 99 stays locked in for the ride unless you tell it otherwise. If you’re skiing through tight trees or bumps, the new shape makes it much easier to whip the tails out to scrub speed or change direction than the old version.

That’s the Enforcer 99 in a nutshell: all the grip and control you want from an Enforcer, while simultaneously more nimble and easier to pilot through tight terrain. The on-snow feeling is one of confidence and control, and that only increases when you step on the gas. Anyone concerned about the Enforcer being dumbed down can put those fears to rest – this remains an excellent choice for fast, aggressive skiers. The titanal layup delivers an incredibly smooth, composed feel at speed, with Nordica’s pulse core construction further damping vibration underfoot. If you’re looking for the speed limit, good luck, I’m not convinced this ski has one.

The Enforcer 99 does a decent job in powder, but it won’t be anyone’s first pick if they have something wider and more heavily rockered to choose from. The 99mm waist width provides acceptable float, with the added tail rocker offering a welcome boost to soft snow maneuverability. Overall, it performs exactly as you would expect for an all mountain ski shredding pow – good, but not great. Where it does shine is when things get tracked out. The powerful metal layup means it isn’t easily knocked around or thrown off its line, making it an absolute blast to charge through piles of soft, choppy snow.

Who Are They For?

The Enforcer 99 is ideal for advanced to expert resort skiers who tend towards a more directional riding style. If you’re a fan of the previous generation, the new skis will feel pretty familiar. They retain every ounce of power and performance, while simultaneously feeling more nimble and easier to maneuver. No longer just a “dad ski”, the Enforcer 99 is a multi-faceted resort ripper – a fantastic choice for anyone who values stability, edge-hold, and all terrain capability.
