Our testers put the 2025 Line Skis Vision 96 through its paces and the consensus is overwhelmingly positive. Sam Ryan found this version to be a significant upgrade from previous models, noting that it strikes the perfect balance as a lightweight backcountry touring ski that can still perform well in-bounds. Kyle Bream appreciated the Vision 96's reliable handling and stability, and highlighted its confidence-inspiring light wood construction and smooth transition on packed snow. Marcel Radominski praised the ski's lightness and maneuverability, making it an excellent choice for backcountry enthusiasts, though he did note some chatter on chopped snow.
Overall, the 2025 Line Skis Vision 96 offers a versatile and enjoyable skiing experience.
"Created for all-mountain versatility in an exceptionally lightweight package, the LINE Vision 96 shares the same build and featherweight feel as the Vision 114 and 104 straight down to the THC Tech, Thick Cut Sidewalls, and Bio Resin. Whether you’re looking to rally through the freshies, arc on groomers, or motor up skin tracks, the LINE Vision 96 is up to the task. It may be one of the lightest skis you’ll get your hands on, but don’t let that fool you; the Vision 96 will rip whatever you throw at it."

Backcountry ski that works well in-bounds
"The 24/25 vision is a nice upgrade from the previous models. With my height and weight, I had felt too big for the vision. This version seems to hit the sweet spot of lightweight backcountry touring ski that can still rip in bounds"
Directional Versatility, Reliable Handling
"The Vision 96 didn't particularly blow my mind, but that's not a bad thing. It did everything I asked of it, and well. Predicable, stable, and confidence inspiring in a light wood construction. The mid-width transitioned nicely on packed snow while its mid-flex kept it feeling alive under my feet. Want to bump it up a few notches? Take a look at the Blade Optic series. In search of a more playful package? The new unisex Pandora series is dialed and already making waves."
Great for intermediate and up looking to go out in the backcountry.
"Great ski for a person looking to get out in the backcountry. Light and easy to turn on a dime. There's a little chatter on chop but overall a fun ski!"
Lightweight and Versatile: The Vision 96 excels as a backcountry touring ski while still performing admirably in-bounds, offering a great balance for varied skiing experiences.
Reliable Handling: Predictable and stable, the Vision 96 inspires confidence with its light wood construction and smooth transitions on packed snow.
Easy Maneuverability: This ski is light and turns on a dime, making it an excellent choice for backcountry enthusiasts who need quick and responsive handling.
Chatter on Chopped Snow: There is some chatter when skiing on chopped snow, which can affect stability and comfort.
Lacks Playfulness: Compared to other models, the Vision 96 may not feel as playful or lively, which could be a downside for skiers looking for a more dynamic experience.
The 2025 Line Skis Vision 96 is best suited for expert skiers who are looking for a lightweight and versatile ski that can handle both backcountry touring and in-bounds terrain. It's ideal for those who value reliable handling and smooth transitions on packed snow. Backcountry enthusiasts will appreciate its easy maneuverability and lightweight construction.
However, skiers seeking a more playful or highly dynamic ski might find other models more suitable. The Vision 96 also handles less predictably on chopped snow, which could be a consideration for those frequently skiing in such conditions.
