The high performance all-mountain Salomon Quest 12 Ski Boots with magnesium Backbone technology combine proven Salomon skiing performance with comfortable hiking and walking. With a flex rating of 120, you sacrifice nothing on the way down in order to get up.
A bi-injected shell made from Polyurethane, a material with consistent density enabling effortless progress on snow, provides well adapted stiffness in a shiny, durable, dynamic and abrasion resistant piece.
My Custom Fit Pro Liner offers maximum customization with 3 layers of thermoformable foam on the ankle, heel, meta, tongue and sole for perfect comfort and transmission.

Backbone release, taken from the X-3 lab, is a Magnesium piece linking the cuff to the shell.
Salomon’s patented Ride & Hike technology combines the backbone release with a specific V-cut shape on the back of the lower shell. This allows wide rear cuff opening when hiking (backbone unlocked) and true alpine forward flex when skiing down (backbone locked) because the backside of the backbone fits precisely into the V-cut lower shell.
Heel cushioning system for shock absorption
SCS toe cushioning for protection from toe bang
A reinforced rear, lateral insert enables the use of a softer front cuff for improved leg wrapping and progressive flex.
Canting adjustment for cuff alignment
A 120 flex provides tremendous power, precision, and control to advanced to expert skiers that push their equipment to the limit. A 100mm last is wide enough to be comfortable on the way up, but narrow enough to maintain precision on the way down.
