Even if you don't take plane to Asia to find it, Japow is a dream every rider hopes to experience one day - bottomless fluff with nightly refills is the stuff legends spring from, and there's no better board to enjoy it on than the Weston Japow Splitboard, Whether you're shredding the BC options on Hokkaido or checking out the touring options in Revy, the Japow Split provides the surface area and splitboard technology to get you out there and get you down with a smile.
Directional Powder Camber – A large reverse-camber nose provides maximum float in deep snow while traditional camber underfoot provides a reliable edge hold.
Flex Rating – 6 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)
Directional Swallowtail
91% Poplar / 9% Bamboo – Sustainably harvested, this blend keeps the board smooth and powerful.
Tri-Axe Glass – Multi-axis, stitched fiberglass laminate that offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow conditions.
Tail V Carbon – Carbon fiber from the tail inserts to the tail contact points to provides added edge to edge response and spring in the tail.
UMHW PE – Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene has one of the highest impact strengths of any plastic out there, which means it can take a beating and look as good as new. For additional durability, the tip and tail sections are stitched to the core for a tighter bond.
Sintered Durasurf 4001 – The gold standard in bases. The 4000-series sintered bases have a higher density than other options on the market, and are therefore more durable. Additionally, it absorbs more wax, making for a faster and smoother ride. 4000-series PTEX is usually reserved for only top-of-the-line boards due to a higher manufacturing cost, but at Weston it’s the minimum standard.
Rugged Topsheet – Rugged Topsheet - Polymide is eco friendly and made from castor beans. The topsheet is durable and resistant to scratches and scuffs.
Karakoram UltraClips and Active Joining – Karakoram UltraClips and Tip-Locks use Active Joining to spring load the seam of your splitboard, eliminating the rattling shearing, and rolling inherent to passive slip-fit connections. Simply close the lever to lock in the most responsive ride.
Skin Attachments – Tip holes (for Pomoca Z-Clips) and tail notches.
Shifted Touring Bracket Position
Rooted Inserts – The odds of pulling out inserts on a snowboard are about zero, but just to make sure Weston have reinforced all of the inserts areas with precision-cut sheets of flax. This improved durability and naturally dampens chatter. Additionally, flax is a sustainable crop and is good for the environment.
Split Tech – Weston doesn't skimp on their splits. You'll see a full inner metal edge, complete with sidewall and dampening tape. Also, when facing a kick-turn on a steep slope, you want all the help you can get - that's why Weston balance's their splits so that they are tail heavy.
