StepChild JP Walker Pro Model Snowboard 2011: JP wanted to switch things up a bit with the flex and feel of his board this year. After testing many camber and reverse camber boards he chose to go with an ideal camber for his riding style, which is Zero Camber. StepChild also added Kevlar reinforcements to the core. The Kevlar reinforcements prevent the board from “noodling out” on high impact landings and high speed turns and is still flexible on 5-0’s or presses. The core consists of tip to tail Poplar and Beech wood. This is a high end pro model board with Triaxial glass and a speedy structurn base. The JP Board also has 28 inserts for maximum stans options. StepChild Flexometer: Medium/Stiff
Kevlar is a lightweight material known for its strength. StepChild added Kevlar strips to the whole length of the JP to give it a bit more pop in the flex. The Kevlar will also help you get more days riding with a lively and consistent flex because nobody likes to ride a dead board. There is also no rocker and no camber. Great for all types of riding conditions from rails to powder. This board is a true twin with a centered stance and sidecut. The tip and tail are identical.
Construction and Core
As with all StepChild boards, this comes with the Armadillo Plate, a diamond shaped fiberglass reinforcement layer that is placed over the inserts.
Base
The base has a smooth “soft belt” finish that is pre waxed.
Sidewalls and Edges
This freestyle board has edges that were built to take a beating or two, durable enough for rails and jibs and versatile enough for fresh pow days.

Rocker A rocker board side profile is the opposite of a camber board, with a smooth downward curvature to it and less edge contact length when the board is weighted. Rocker boards float well in powder and pivot more easily underfoot. They also tend to be less “hooky” at both tip and tail and better for landing spin maneuvers when you don’t quite have enough rotation.
