The 2009 Atomic Blackeye is over 1.5 cm wider than earlier shapes, measuring 79mm under foot, and one of the most versatile skis Atomic has ever made. The Blackeye provides more stability and is 20% lighter than previous atomic skis, making it more buoyant for a sweeter ride.

Sporting a 79 mm waist this is no “Super-Model” slim slalom ski but a very nimble all-rounder with a light core, and agile manners. Very easy to get along with on the groomed runs the Blackeye is sleek to behold and can carve sleek carves at a medium radius. Densolite, a preformed and sculpted microcellular foam core, is lighter and more lively than wood, reducing swing weight for simple handling.

The bindings are standard 4tix, and comes with slightly lower DIN scale, 3-10, since the ski is simply too light-weighted for skiers of heavier weight.

Torsion Flex Control sectors, or TFC (TFC 4+2 = 4 in front and 2 to the rear).
