GNU Billy Goat Freeride BTX Snowboard 2009: In a new twist for 2009, Gnu rider, Temple Cummins has gone b-a-n-a-n-a-s on his Billy Goat Freeride board -- as in Banana Magne-Traction. Crud is no object for this board, the tips float effortlessly in pow and this banana is no mush – it’s designed to be solid, stable, and torsionally firm. The pre-bent rocker allows the board to be easily micro adjusted in steeps and tight set up lines. The Billy Goat Freeride BTX features a specially designed birch/aspen core with Anvitex dampening to keep things smooth at high speeds in variable conditions. Temple put the Gnu Billy Goat Freeride to the test; now it’s your turn.
BTX: Banana Technology and Magne-traction combined – Banana is revolutionary snowboard geometry (licensed from Lib Tech) featuring a “banana” rocker between your feet and flat to the tip and tails. The middle of your board is brought to life and the ends become more catch free to float or climb through tight transitions. Magne-traction gives you better control and edge hold with multiple points of contact on your edge. Slice through any snow condition, think of Magne-traction as a serrated knife blade cutting through the snow.
Quasi-Isotropic Fiberglass: 4-way fiber orientation 0/45/45/90. Triaxial and biaxial glass combo for max pop and control.
Sintered 9900 base: Continuous compression formed for molecular elongation, preserving its amorphous polymer structure, for maximum wax absorption and durability.
Mervin – BA core: Birch & Aspen core that is super damp and dense. Solid pop and crust blasting stability at speed.
Gnu Organics: Bio Plastic top sheet made out of beans
