Burton Malolo Rocker Snowboard 2011: The Burton Malolo Rocker Snowboard lets guys like Terje spin off cliffs and kickers, lay it sideways, and blast from stash to stash with uncompromised flow and precision. The freeride-designed S-Rocker™ combines with a moderately tapered shape to naturally lift the nose for improved float and speed through deep driving pow turns (and the crud you encounter along the way). Now upgraded with the Carbon I-Beam™ for added tip-to-tail pop and response and available in sizes men and women can enjoy.
Flex Rating: 5 (1 Soft-10 Stiff) Speed and float are your friends, and that’s what S-Rocker is all about. Entry rocker extends from the nose to under your front foot, then transitions to camber between your feet. Compressing the camber under your back foot causes the entry rocker to naturally lift the nose, thus improving float while maintaining momentum and stability through deep-driving pow turns and variable conditions. Directional flex features increased pop in the tail and a more resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control and flow through all terrain and conditions.
Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core with the Super Fly II Core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight. Further optimized for float in freeride focused boards, and strength in park boards.
Directional: the classic, most versatile snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or snow condition. The tapered tip and tail thickness of Pro-Tip reduces swing weight for easier mobility and float
The Carbon I Beam backbone increases pop and longitudinal snap. With Dualzone EGD, the wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for superior edge hold and added strength. Triax fiberglass offers versatile flex and response for everything from mini to mega shred. The sintered base is durable and highly porous which offers added durability and superior wax absorption for greater overall glide. 10:45 Sidewalls are extra meaty with dual angle geometry that results in bomber impact absorption.
