Volkl RTM 80 Skis + iPT Wide Ride 12.0 Bindings 2012: Complementing the RTM 84 is the all-new Volkl RTM 80 Skis, a ski for the advanced to expert skier looking for more bandwidth in a high performance, frontside/all-mountain ski. Volkl's proprietary full rocker technology gives the skier smooth, direct turn initiation, and a playful overall feel. Its uncanny blend of carving prowess combined with occasional off-piste capability re-sets the bar in this popular category.
Extended Low Profile (ELP) Full Rocker gives the skier all the benefits of added maneuverability in soft snow while also delivering smooth, graceful arcs on groomed terrain. By matching the flex and sidecut with the full rocker (long, gradual bend from tip to tail) profile, the skier gains full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more you put the ski on edge, the more effective the edge becomes. The resulting smoothness and predictability is truly uncanny.
Dual Extended Transmission construction makes the RTM 80 more forgiving and softer in its feel, yet still delivers the necessary power for an exciting ride that is accessible to more than just expert skiers.
Double Grip construction consists of raising the height of the construction above the edge, creating added support for the edge, and in turn, better edge grip. The unique Motion iPT interface allowed Volkl engineers to further develop their signature Double Grip construction, creating Extended Double Grip. The added height extends from tip to tail, placing more material where it’s needed - in support of the edges.
The Marker iPT Wide Ride 12.0 Bindings - the Wide Ride system is 30% wider than the original iPT (Internal Power Transmission). It was developed specifically for skis 80mm and wider.
The Triple Pivot Elite Toe and Inner Pivot Heel pieces for the Wide Ride system are the same design as those of the Marker Duke and Jester freeride bindings. The components contribute to better performance with a more secure wrap on the boot lug, increased directional elasticity in the heel, and an extremely light construction, allowing the skier to have a wider ski that is as easy to handle and maneuverable as a narrower system.
DIN range: 4-12
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
The Extended (XTD) Wood Core is used in Extended Double Grip constructions. More forgiving than the Extended Sensorwood Core, it consists of a full-length wood core sitting beneath the Extended Double Grip chambers.
