New for 2014, the Völkl One Skis are a shift in powder ski design. Using an early taper design, the Völkl One Skis are designed for skiers who want smoother, more floaty turns in deep snow. The widest point in the ski moves towards the middle and away from the tip, giving skiers more smearing capability and allowing for a more playful ski across big mountain and backcountry terrain. With a more moderate 116 mm waist than the Two, the Völkl One is a great daily driver choice in areas that get a lot of snow.
ELP Full Rocker – Völkl Full rocker is a smooth, gradual bend from tip to tail, with matching sidecut and a symmetrical flex pattern. The Extended Low Profile (ELP) gives skiers all the benefits of extra maneuverability in soft snow while delivering smooth, sexy arcs on groomed terrain. The matching flex and sidecut on the full rocker gives you full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more the ski is on edge the more effective that edge becomes, and the resulting smoothness and predictability is uncanny.
New One and Two Sidecut – The new One, Two and Three models feature a completely new sidecut shape that tapers towards the tip and tail. The widest points are now closer to the mid body allowing the skis to drift more easily, especially through powder. One and Two gain a special playful quality that shines through in powder and heavy snow.
Multi-Layer Sensorwood – Created in a complex CNC milling process, a highly sophisticated milling program enables Völkl to produce wood cores with extreme precision. It is 'extended' upwards and lengthwise, and milled to form chambers for the vertical sidewalls and torsion box. The material is a blend of poplar and beech wood, and is found in Völkl's highest performing models.
Power Construction – Völkl's longest running construction, Power Construction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. Used in racing skis as well as all the freeskiing models, this versatile, proven construction provides tremendous grip and stability when combined with the Sensorwood core.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
