Volkl Grizzly Skis + Marker iPT 12.0 Bindings 2009: No one outruns the Grizzly. This ski is Volkl’s newest and most versatile all-mountain model. With enough width to offer superior float in soft snow and a sidecut that will carve through groomers like a knife, the Volkl Grizzly Skis will take you anywhere. Volkl’s Power Switch further enhances the performance of the ski by allowing the skier to personalize their riding style. The Grizzly heeds no one. Just ask Timothy Treadwell.
POWER SWITCH TECHNOLOGY offers 3 positions for personalization: Power – ski hard with a lot of energy; Dynamic – More relaxed, middle setting; Cruise – You know. Cruise.
EXTENDED SENSORWOOD CORES: Created in a complex CNC milling process. The core is 'extended' upward lengthwise, milled to form the chambers of the Extended Double Grip construction. Found in Völkl's highest performing models.
EXTENDED DOUBLE GRIP: In the signature Extended Double Grip Construction, dual chambers extend from tip to tail, providing more support for the edges, and enabling the ideal distribution of pressure to the snow.
POWERED BY TITANIUM: The top-of-the-line models in the VÖLKL Alpine ski range boast a special wood core tuning system all powered by titanium. Above and below the XTD Sensor Wood Core or XTD Wood Core, there is a layer of titanium reinforcing the ski and adding power and stability. The thin yet extremely strong aluminum alloy extends its unparalleled dampening properties particularly at high speeds.
MOTION iPT_(internal power transmission) combines ease of ski flex with power and sensitivity. Engineers built the binding interface INTO the ski body, then created a system that slides into position on the ski. Inside the ski, the interface creates a rigid connection that results in better performance in any snow conditions. The sides of the interface rest directly on top of the chambers of the Extended Double Grip construction, for direct energy transfer.
