K2 Recoil Skis + Squire Schizo Bindings 2012: Raised in the shadows of the legendary Public Enemy and Extreme, the K2 Recoil Skis have arrived as the new standard for a high performance all-mountain twin-tip. The Recoil is built solid enough to take a beating in the rowdiest of terrain parks and powerful enough to charge the whole mountain and in all conditions. All-Terrain Rocker makes this ski nimble, powerful, and floaty all at the same time. There you have it, a true living legend.
All-Terrain Rocker™ is designed for all snow conditions, featuring an elevated tip and tail for variable and soft snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.
Bi-Directional Taper Sidecut gives a ski with slightly wider tip than tail the ability to perform exceptionally well while skiing in the forward direction, but with a similar switch arc for more consistent switch riding.
ABSorb Sidewalls sandwich a urethane layer in between ABS underfoot for shock absorption, lessening the impact of harsh landings.
TwinTech Construction increases the durability of the sidewalls. Unlike a traditional sidewall, this construction rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse.
Tip/Tail Hardware - rivets for durability
3.5mm steel edges are durable and far more resistant to cracking.
The K2 Recoil Skis with SchizoFrantic Inserts come with Marker Squire Schizo Bindings. The Squire Schizo is an aggressive freeride binding with low stand height and weight for lighter weight or less aggressive skiers that can easily be adjusted to move the mounting position forward or back a full 6cm for different riding conditions and styles. The insert system allows for fast mounting without drilling (should be done by a certified technician) and provides greater resistance to pullout.
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Fir and Aspen core: solid and dense woods known for their inherent strength and durability.
Triaxial Braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around the wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. This makes the ski incredibly energetic and responsive.
