K2 Free Luv Skis - Women's 2011: If you’re searching for an advanced all-mountain ski, the K2 Free Luv Ski just may be the perfect tool for you. K2’s patented Mod Technology and new All-Terrain Rocker ensure excellent maneuverability in all types of terrain and conditions.
All-Terrain Rocker is the most versatile Baseline available. Featuring an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy and edgehold in firmer conditions
Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented Triaxial Braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, while maintaining the lively flex patterns of the wood core
Best use: Groomed: 50%, Ungroomed: 50%
All of K2’s women’s skis use a combination of fir and spruce in a unique core known as BioFlex; a process where a dense fir core underfoot is fused with lightweight spruce at the tip and tail to reduce swing weight. With the Alliance’s involvement, K2 developed a technology specific for women: lightweight, easy to maneuver, yet sturdy and high performance
Mod Technology – Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected
Requires a binding brake width between 75mm and 85mm
