The Armada ARVw Skis were designed with all mountain exploration in mind. With wide a platform, traditional camber (no rocker), and full sidewall construction, this ski has a stable feel and precise edging in all conditions. The ARVw features classic design coupled with Armada innovation making it the ultimate all mountain ripper.
Positive Camber – Traditional camber engages the tip and tail of the ski, enhancing ease of entry and exit into and out of a turn, while maintaining solid edge control.
Flex Pattern – Tip: 4, Waist: 6, Tail: 5 (1=soft; 10=stiff)
Hybrid Ultralight Core – Ultralight core using select wood stringers that have unusually high strength-to-weight ratios, UltraLight cores allow our widest skis to maintain a light-yet-stable feel.
Laminate Matrix – Deliberate directional layering of fiberglass dictates flex pattern and torsional rigidity and allows each ski's flex to be precisely tuned. Bi-axial fiberglass runs in an “x” pattern down the ski to control lateral flex; Uni-directional fiberglass controls flex along the length of the ski; Tri-axial fiberglass, with fibers running in three directions, beefs up the center of the ski.
CK Stringer – Carbon Kevlar combo stringers lie on top of the laminate matrix along the tail to brace the ski. This increases the landing platform, especially when weight is distributed farther back in the ski than intended. It also gives the ski more pop and extends ski life.
ABS Sidewall Construction – A full sidewall construction of two strips of ABS material lie directly alongside the core and over the ski’s edges, providing solid edge hold, core protection, and stability.
50/50 Base – A blend of speed and durability, this base is faster than Armada’s S7 base but more rugged than the Comp series.
2.5 Impact Edge – This edge has an oversized height and width, and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness, which helps resist breaking and tearing out from rails, ledges and any other abuse it might meet.
