The POC Trabec Race MIPS Bike Helmet takes the already excellent Trabec and adds more Aramid fiber reinforcement in key areas, as well as MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) capability to lessen impact in certain glancing or rotational axes. The Trabec design adds coverage in the area of the temples and rear of the head compared to traditional MTB helmets, and is ideal for riders who push it hard on the downhill.
Outer polycarbonate shell
Aramid grid reinforced EPS (Expanded PolyStyrene) liner
In-mold construction with reinforced liner
MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) – MIPS is a system used to reduce the rotational force to the brain in case of oblique impacts. Accident statistics show that the most common accident occurs in an oblique impact to the head, resulting in a rotation of the head and brain. The brain is more sensitive to oblique impacts than radial impacts. In a helmet equipped with MIPS technology, a low friction layer separates the shell and the inside of the helmet. When subjected to an oblique impact, the low friction layer allows a small controlled rotation of the shell relative to the lining.
Size adjustment system
Aerodynamic ventilation channel system with 16 vent slots
Adjustable integrated visor protects against weather and branches
Designed to provide more coverage at temples and back of head
