Freedom is just another word, but when it comes to picking a ski boot that will acquit itself on both the downhill and the skintrack, you'd do well to double down on the Scarpa Freedom SL 120 Alpine Touring Ski Boots. A burly 120 flex and 4-buckle overlap construction combined with a relaxed, all-day/all-season fit mean you can ski these boots every day of the season with a smile on your face; a smooth-as-silk touring mode and a weight of 1895 grams (size 27.0) mean you can maintain your smile even when you're skinning uphill to earn some turns. A favorite of pro patrollers and other full-time ski addicts, the Freedom SL can do it all for you, too.
Last: 101 mm – A medium wide forefoot combined with comfortable instep height provide a comfortable, all day fit for a majority of skiers.
Overlap Closure – Designed to ensure a perfect wrap of the cuff and the shell. An overlap closure allows the correct movement of the ankle and creates a direct power transmission to the skis. The front of the cuff is separated into two areas, between the cuff buckle, for an uniform and precise closure of the tibial area. Differentiated thickness and oblique profile on the bottom guarantees the correct wrapping of the forefoot without any pressure point.
Adjustable Spoiler – Dial in the comfort and control by adjusting the spoiler up or down.
Flex: 120 – Stiff and powerful flex for those who charge hard when they tour.
Steel Insert – Steel insert riveted on two points, which connects the power strap to the cuff, allows for a smooth, progressive flex when skiing.
Intuition® Cross Fit Speed Ride
Carbon Core Technology – Power transmission and anti-torsion control. Advanced technology for maximum performance. Carbon Core is a carbon insert that is over-injected on the shell sole to stiffen the boot and improve the transmission of power to the ski throughout the length of the boot shell.
Injection Technology – The ultimate in comfort and performance for maximum lightness. An innovative injection process, combined with a special design of the mold, creates variable thickness in the plastic for a smooth, progressive flex while skiing. Maximum lightness guaranteed.
Shell – Pebax Rnew® with Carbon -- ultra light, planet-friendly plastic.
Cuff – Polyamide
10˚ - 18˚ Forward Lean
Axial Power Control – Axial Power Control helps improve the inclination of the ankle-knee joints, for more precise edge grip. The inclination of 2° medial axis allows for more sensitive and responsive skiing, especially on steep slopes.
Scarpa Ride Power Block® Walk Mechanism | 27˚ Range of Motion – Maximum power with a frictionless uphill walk mode.
4 Adjustable Light Alloy
Extended Buckle Rack – The last element of the rack plays an important role during the uphill: it efficiently locks the buckle, preventing any movement and guaranteeing optimum comfort during the walk.
Oversized Power Strap – Increases adjustability of the boot cuff.
Finger Strap – Made of PU stitched at the end of the power strap. Its design allows for easy opening and closing of the power strap even when wearing gloves.
Core Connect Technology – Innovative system of attaching the sole to the shell. The sole is secured by a plate that is over-injected into the tip and metal nuts embedded in the shell. Core Connect Technology increases power transmission to the ski due to the reduced distance in between the foot and the ski.
Vibram® Mountain Plus – Rockered Mountain Plus sole is standard, optional Vibram® Mountain Piste ISO 5355 is available separately.
Genuine Dynafit® Quick Step Tech Fittings – Quick Step-In shows you where to step into the binding quickly and easily, even in deep snow. Quick-Step-in inserts provide 70% easier entry (compared to traditional inserts). Self-guiding notches greatly simplify binding entry.
Snow Protection Insert – Ensures smooth buckle closure while keeping snow out.
Protective Rays – These rays are built into the boot shell and designed to protect the first buckle from accidental impacts.
Compatible with tech or frame alpine touring bindings.
