Trails, jumps, tracks, and also: trails. The Yeti Cycles SB140 C2 27.5 Complete Mountain Bike is the one you want, if you're interested in riding trails. Whether it's a ribbon of soft dirt meandering through grassy hills or a connect-the-paint-dots rock route in Moab, an SB140 is up for it. Big enough for regular rowdiness but agile enough to keep you working in concert with your dirt, this is, as Yeti puts it, their Mountain Bike. Yeti's added a threaded BB and kept the componentry reasonable on this 27.5" wheel model, making for a platform that'll be happily devouring trail for seasons to come. Forget the late night stats comparison sessions – this bike leaves an avid ripper wanting nothing. This build features a SRAM drivetrain and brakes (Shimano fans look at the C1).
C/Series Carbon Frame – Over the course of hundreds of virtual simulation comparisons and back-to-back carbon prototype testing, Yeti has refined their carbon layups to deliver consistent torsional stiffness and flex profiles across all frame sizes. The feel is precise yet compliant while structurally balancing light weight and durability.
Switch Infinity Suspension – The new line of Yeti Switch Infinity bikes builds on their award-winning performance with subtle refined leverage rates that have been adjusted for the added travel of each new bike. This balanced approach to leverage rate results in an incredibly predictable ride.
Fox Float DPS Performance Rear Shock – A lightweight chassis, EVOL air spring, and dual piston damper with 3-position switch create a pedal-friendly shock that soaks up the bumps and delivers pedal power to the ground with utmost efficiency. This Performance series shock has fewer adjustments than Factory Series (no Open mode adjust tuning range), and has a black anodized air sleeve and body instead of Genuine Kashima Coat.
Shock Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Lever-Actuated Open, Medium, Closed Compression / Rebound
Better Shock Tuning – Yeti has been tuning shocks in-house to ensure their kinematics pair seamlessly with their shocks. Using data acquisition and their shock dyno they are able to correlate hours of ride testing, splitting hairs over tenths of millimeters, to deliver the most out of their suspensions. The final tune is the result of countless hours of ride and lab testing with multiple, ground-up shock tunes going into the decision.
Patented Compact Wishbone and Ultra Compact Suspension Link – The goal is simple: optimizing leverage rates while pushing the shock forward in the frame. This forward positioning allows for a large range of shock compatibility, decreases standover height, reduces shock tab sizes, increases water bottle compatibility, and increases downtube clearance.
Frame Protection – An external hard cap provides impact resistance over a rubber under-guard that provides cushion against the frame.
Full Drop – Yeti's seat tubes are shorter to allow for longer dropper posts.
Internal Cable Routing with Secure Frame Ports – This may seem like a small thing, but having a clean aesthetic on the frame along with internally molded carbon tubes inside for hassle-free cable routing is key. It makes for a quiet ride and ease of maintenance. For Yeti, building a great frame is all about the details.
New Pivot Designs – Yeti's new pivot designs use 100% standard sized cartridge bearings secured with precision -- machined floating collet axles. All bearings are pressed into the linkage assembly vs. the swingarm or front triangle. The end result is perfect alignment and smooth suspension motion every time, boosting longevity.
Refined New School Geometry – From size-specific seat tube angles and chain stay lengths, to new reach numbers that keep both wheels weighted, Yeti's concentrated on making a more balanced ride. Yeti engineers and designers mined the depths of every millimeter to create a nuanced set of refinements that deliver another leap forward in how well a mountain bike can ride.
Universal Derailleur Hanger – If a hanger-bending crash occurs, the new Yeti models use the Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) interface -- the industry standard mount for a rear derailleur. The UDH is available in nearly any bike shop, Yeti dealer or not.
Fox 36 Performance – The all-mountain champ and a favorite of hard-charging trail riders everywhere. For MY23 the Fox 36 receives an update in the form of a new crown with updated design and engineering for more steer tube overlap improving durability and maintaining stiffness while dropping 20 grams.
Fork Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Lever-Actuated Open, Medium, Firm Compression Positions / Low Speed Rebound (10 Clicks)
SRAM GX Eagle – GX Eagle is your partner for all rides, all the time, all day. Long days, quick rides and everything in-between, GX Eagle is the ecosystem at its best. With the all new 520% range, all new colourways and seamless compatibility with the rest of the ecosystem, GX Eagle is there to maximize the potential of your ride experience.
SRAM G2 R – The core of brake performance is consistency. Reliability. Trust. And with G2 R, SRAM focused on offering a premium value without compromising the heart of the operation. This brake gives riders the G2s famed “Mini-Code” power and a whole suite of SRAM standard features at an absolutely unbeatable value.
SRAM Centerline Rotors – 180mm Front / 180mm Rear
Maxxis Minion DHF Front Tire – With a tread design that deftly balances rolling speed with braking and cornering traction, it’s no wonder why the Minion DHF is one of the most imitated tires in mountain biking.
Maxxis Rekon Rear Tire – A lighter duty tire designed to go fast in technical terrain, the Rekon is a staple of the trail bike world. Great for hard packed to loose conditions, this tire works well as a front or rear.
DT Swiss M1900 Spline | 30mm – Your entire focus lies on the right line choice, the exact braking point and the spot-on steering movement. All the everyday stress fades away, you feel free and only hear the precise sound of the freehub system. The 1900 Spline was developed precisely for these freewheeling moments. A proven aluminum rim, a Ratchet LN freehub system and hand-laced steel spokes provide the reliability required from a mountain bike wheel.
