Billed as "the mountain biker's eMTB," the Transition Relay Alloy NX E-Mountain Bike is a huge step forward in bike technology. As an ebike, it's a lightweight and nimble mid-power (60Nm) go-anywhere ripper, with the the aggressive geo and excellent ride quality you'd expect from a Transition. But, when you take the battery out, you can still pedal it. Yeah, that's right, it really is two great bikes in one, convertible between lightweight eeb and beefy enduro bike. Further still, the frame allows for tinkering with setup as well, with the ability to take air or coil shocks, 160 or 170mm travel, and/or mixed wheel sizing. There are like a half dozen dream bikes here, one for pretty much anything you're into. There's never been a better time to be a mountain biker: get on it!
Alloy Frame
Travel – 160mm Front / 160mm Rear
Wheel Size – 29"
Fazua Ride 60 Drive Unit – 60 Nm of torque but more compact and lighter weight than full-power systems.
Fazua Ring Controller – The simple and ergonomic ring controller adjusts modes with a gentle nudge up or down. Pushing it up increases the power level, pushing it down decreases power level, pushing inward will activate walk mode. Holding the controller up for 2 seconds from any assistance mode will activate a boost mode, giving you peak system power output for roughly ten seconds.
Speed Balanced Geometry – SBG ensures the bike maintains low speed agility, front wheel traction, and proper rider weight balance while increasing confidence in steep terrain and at high speeds. With SBG, a slacker head tube angle is combined with an all new reduced offset fork standard, preventing the front wheel from being too far in front of the rider. This improves front to rear weight distribution on the bike, which is often out of balance on long and slack bikes. One of SBG's greatest benefits is that it creates a confident steering feel that adapts to wheel speed. More stability when going fast, more agility on technical slow speed maneuvering as well as improved traction, control and confidence for any skill level of rider.
Coil and Air Shock Compatible – With 26% progression, the rear suspension is fully compatible with both air and coil shocks without worrying about harsh bottom out.
Long Dropper Insertion – With an uninterrupted seat tube, you are free to drop your post all the way to the collar, allowing for long droppers on every size.
Chainring Bashguard – Designed in-house, the forged spider bashguard keeps the chain, chainring, and frame safe from impacts.
Internal Cable Routing – Fully internal cable routing is a breeze with easy access through the battery door, while ports in the headtube keep it quick and easy to work on the headset.
UDH Compatible – SRAM's Universal Derailleur Hanger is available at almost every bike shop, should something go wrong.
Gear Accessory Mount – An underside top-tube accessory mount allows you to carry a spare tube or other goodies safely on your frame in case you are looking to ditch your pack.
