Free yourself from any preconceptions you have about hardtails, the Marin San Quentin 3 Complete Mountain Bike is a whole different animal. Designed by pro rider Matt Jones with a mind-altering blend of modern trail geo and a dirt jump inspired frame style, it's the perfect grab and go bike for everything from your local downhill mashers to the top secret jump line in the woods over yonder.
Series 3 6061 Double Butted Aluminum Frame – From its advanced tube forms, threaded bottom bracket, and full internal cable routing, this frame leaves nothing to chance. It's made to exacting standards with today's best technology.
Dirt Jump Inspired Frame Style – Taking cues from the Alcatraz, the San Quentin line up provides all the benefits of the DJ style with massive stand over, slick frame tubes, and a paint job to match.
Modern Trail Geometry – The slack head tube angle paired with a steep seat tube angle create a ride that will fly uphill with perfect front wheel precision but then descend like it’s on rails. The balanced rider position thanks to the steep seat tube puts your weight between the wheels for impressive climbing and handling on flats, while the slack front end and short rear center help to pull you through the rough descents and corners with an intuitive feel.
Internal Routing – Compatible with internally routed dropper posts, with internal rear derailleur routing for a clean look and snag free ride.
RockShox Revelation RC – Revelation has grown, and after representing the original long travel forks, it's ready to tackle the most demanding trail rides. The chassis is directly derived from Pike, with 35mm Fast Black upper tubes for unmatched stiffness and to match the aggressive look of modern trail bikes.
Fork Adjustments – Low Speed Compression Adjust to Firm / External Rebound Adjust
1x12 Drivetrain – A mix of Shimano Deore, FSA, and Marin products keep this drivetrain inexpensive all while delivering great performance.
Shimano MT420 4 Piston Hydraulic Disc – The BR-MT420 caliper features consistent braking performance and reliable stopping power in all conditions. The 4-piston caliper instills greater downhill confidence and control.
Rotors – 203mm Front / 180mm Rear
Maxxis Assegai Tires – A beefy DH tire that's been a fave since it was released, the Assegai is great in the front or rear of a hard charging setup. It has big blocky knobs that maximize grip in all conditions.
Double Wall Alloy Rims on Shimano 410 Hubs – These wheels roll fast and smooth, with Shimano Microspline hubs and 32 spokes. Their double walled rims fight dings and dents, and at 29mm wide they're a perfect match for aggressive tread.
