Like most aspiring pros, Tahoe native Kimmy Fasani made the migration to Mammoth in the early 2000s and never moved back. Kimmy, her husband Chris Benchetler, and their dog Reese have found a home in the Southern Sierras due to the seemingly infinite possibilities for an active and healthy lifestyle. Over the past few seasons Kimmy has made a name for herself most by being the first girl to land a double backflip off both a backcountry jump, and in the park.
Last season after a strong showing in Standard Films’ “2012” Kimmy suffered a season sending crash, fracturing her Pelvis and injuring both knees. Always one to stay positive, Kimmy spent her recovery not only working with sponsors Burton, Zeal, and Skullcandy to develop new products but also figuring out how she could give back. With this new found time, Kimmy pulled together Amusement Park, an all-women’s spring park session at Mammoth to progress women’s riding in a safe and relaxed environment. Kimmy is also an ambassador for Protect our Winters traveling to NYC to speak on behalf of athletes for climate change.
