For the ultimate in traction, control, and tunability, look no further than the Fox Shox 38 Float Factory GRIP X2 Fork. The latest incarnation of Fox's heavy hitting 38 fork is powered by the all new GRIP X2 damper, a stunning evolution of the award winning GRIP 2. GRIP X2 increases the number of valves from 7 to 23, with a larger 24mm base valve for improved tunability, precision, and sensitivity. The result is an ultra supportive, ultra responsive fork that keeps your wheel glued to the ground for unreal traction on the jankiest trails. With 4-way adjustability, the Fox Shox 38 Float Factory GRIP X2 Fork gives you the tools you need to get the most out of every ride.
Kashima Coated Stanchions – The smoothest of the smooth, plus it looks cooler. The gold Kashima coating has become synonymous with friction-free suspension actuation, and it's only available on Fox Factory components.
Lower Leg Channels – As a fork compresses, the air volume within the lower legs decreases, increasing air pressure. The more the fork compresses, the more pressure increases. This effect can have the unintended consequence of preventing full travel from being achieved. Fox's lower leg channels help alleviate this issue by dramatically increasing air volume within the lower legs and thereby reducing the amount of additional unintended pressure ramping. Another benefit of these channels is that lower leg bath oil is circulated to the upper reaches of the lower legs, continuously lubricating the foam rings and bushings as the fork compresses and extends through its travel.
Lower Leg Arch – Stiffness-to-weight is the ultimate metric for bicycle design. Engineers invest countless hours poring over every ounce of material in an effort to optimize this critical ratio. Fox's lower leg design pulls out all the stops, shaving every possible gram while making sure not to compromise stiffness or strength requirements of modern enduro and gravity style riding.
Lower Leg Bleeders – These little buttons allow for atmospheric pressure equalization for better fork performance, allowing full travel to be achieved and increasing small bump sensitivity and responsiveness.
Elliptical Steerer – Optimizing stiffness to weight, this shape places more material where it's needed, and eliminates every ounce of it where it's not.
1.5" Tapered Aluminum Steerer
Kabolt X Axle – Kabolt X, a lightweight bolt-on floating axle to shave grams and increase torsional stiffness via a sleeveless, single-sided pinch bolt design.
FLOAT EVOL Air Spring – EVOL technology increases negative air spring volume, optimizing small bump sensitivity. EVOL’s linear spring curve delivers plushness off the top, extra mid-stroke support, and more tunable bottom-out progression.
Rotor Size – 180 Direct Post Mount, Up to 230 Compatible
Optional Fox 36/38 Mud Guard with Sturdy 4-point Direct-mount Attachment
GRIP X2 Damper – GRIP X2 is the most tunable, supportive and smoothest descent-focused damper ever created by FOX. Riders reap the benefits of sitting higher in the travel while tires stay glued to the ground, cornering with increased traction. It gives you the confidence to push the limits of downhill and enduro racing, all while reducing overall rider fatigue. GRIP X2 is the winning difference.
Fork Adjustments – High / Low Speed Rebound, High / Low Speed Compression
