When G3 announced a light and fast version of their hit Ion 12 binding last spring, hard core ski tourists sat up and took notice. The Ion 12 took the touring world by storm in 2015 with its superb finish, nearly flat ramp angle, and almost total lack of durability problems, and the G3 Ion LT 12 Alpine Touring Ski Bindings promise to build on that reputation with a lighter and simpler brakeless version. In addition to the nearly flat ramp angle, you'll find that the raised toe allows a ski pole tip to penetrate and clear snow from under the toe jaws. Heelpieces can be rotated either clockwise or counterclockwise for touring, and the lifters work equally well in both directions. Reliability of release when the ski is heavily counterflexed remains consistent thanks to the spring loaded heel track. Best of all, you drop over 100 grams of weight from each ski by losing the brake and toe step in guides.
Wide Toe Jaw Dynamics & Tech Pin Positioning – Optimizes energy transfer and shock absorption. Enhances torsional rigidity of binding, and more directly transfers power to edges of ski.
Snow Clearing Channel at Toe – Added stand height allows snow clearing with ski pole tip.
Robust, Reliable Simplicity – Simple and functional design that users of other tech bindings will be instantly familiar with.
Forward Pressure Heel – Spring loaded heel track allows binding to move rearward as the ski flexes.
Easy Release Adjustment – Both lateral and vertical release values can be adjusted with a Pozidrive #3 screwdriver.
Bi-Directional Touring Rotation – Heel may be rotated either clockwise or counterclockwise for skinning.
Quick Flick 3 Position Heel Lifts – Flat, medium and high positions can be adjusted on the fly with a ski pole.
Length Adjustability – 22 mm
Tech Boots Only – Requires a boot with tech heel and toe fittings.
Not compatible with boots that employ a metatarsal flex zone, such as the Scarpa F1, F3, Terminator X and TX Pro
Wide Freeride Mount – Transfers power to edges and enhances torsional rigidity of binding. 33% wider than traditional tech bindings.
Ion Bindings have a nearly flat ramp angle (boot dependent)

The G3 Ion crampon features an ingenious cable release system that operates without having to slide the crampon laterally in the crampon slot. We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
