The Arc'teryx Voltair 30L Airbag Pack is a revolutionary new avalanche tool that relies on a rechargeable 22.2 volt Lithium Ion Polymer battery and high speed centrifugal blower system to inflate the airbag as opposed to compressed air. The advantages of an electrical system include multiple deployments on a single charge, which can be extremely valuable for practice and testing as well as removing any psychological barriers to deploying the bag in a questionable situation. In addition, the usual barriers to travel with a full gas cylinder are absent, as is the need to refill or purchase a cylinder at your travel destination. Arc'teryx's usual superb level of design and execution are evident in the construction of the Voltair packs and their experience as a climbing gear manufacturer is evident as well.
