Product Info

StepChild Simon Chamberlain Pro Model Snowboard 2011: The StepChild Simon Chamberlain Snowboard has always been one of the most popular boards in the line. Simon chose to stay with a regular camber board and add the Kevlar reinforcements to the core profile. The Simon Pro model is a twin flex with a twin shape and a slightly longer nose to keep it above the snow on those pow days. This is what StepChild calls a directional twin.. The Simon also comes with high quality quad axial glass, and die cut base with a speedy structurn finish. Like JP’s Pro Model, Simon’s also comes with 28 inserts for maximum stance options. Bible not included.

Flex

StepChild Flexometer: Medium/Stiff

Kevlar reinforcements give this board a steadier flex and it doesn’t noodle out on presses. Kevlar is a lightweight material known for its strength. StepChild added Kevlar strips to the whole length of the JP to give it a bit more pop in the flex. The Kevlar will also help you get more days riding with a lively and consistent flex because nobody likes to ride a dead board.

Construction and Core

As with all StepChild boards, this comes with the Armadillo Plate, a diamond shaped fiberglass reinforcement layer that is placed over the inserts. The tip-to-tail wood core is made with poplar and beech.

Shape

The sidecut, flex pattern and stance are all twin. The difference with a DTWin is that the nose is slightly longer from the contact point forward. This little bit of extra nose helps to keep the board above the snow in powder and new snow conditions. In slush or hard pack snow conditions this board rides exactly like a twin.

Base

The base has a smooth “soft belt” finish that is pre waxed.
