Burton Joystick Mid Wide Rocker Snowboard 2011: Back and even better, the most award winning board has been upgraded with the mega pop of new Jumper Cables Hi Voltage. Pushing V-Rocker™ into uncharted territories, the Burton Joystick Mid Wide Rocker Snowboard balances a forgiving feel with high-speed stability and Frostbite Edge for added control on ice. Ridden daily by the likes of Euro powerhouse Chris Sorman, high-flying Jack Mitrani, and backcountry boss Mikey Rencz, the Burton Joystick Mid Wide Rocker Snowboard is ready for another season of making really good riders even better.
Flex Rating: 4 (1 Soft-10 Stiff) Directional flex features increased pop in the tail and a more resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control and flow through all terrain and conditions. Rocker between your feet and in front of your feet towards the tip and tail with V-Rocker creates catch-free playfulness and improved float from peak to park. Frostbite Edges enhance power and grip, balancing the board’s overall loose and forgiving feel.
Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core with the Super Fly II Core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight. Further optimized for float in freeride focused boards, and strength in park boards.
The tapered tip and tail thickness of Pro-Tip reduces swing weight for easier mobility and float. The twin-like shape gives you the freestyle feel of a twin slightly tweaked to provide improved float and control through variable terrain and conditions.
The Carbon I Beam backbone increases pop and longitudinal snap. Edges beneath your bindings extend out slightly for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions. Powerful when you need them, playful when you don’t, Frostbite Edges are hungry for hard-pack while remaining ever forgiving in softer conditions. With Dualzone EGD, the wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for superior edge hold and added strength. Triax fiberglass offers versatile flex and response for everything from mini to mega shred. The sintered base is durable and highly porous which offers added durability and superior wax absorption for greater overall glide. 10:45 Sidewalls are extra meaty with dual angle geometry that results in bomber impact absorption.
Don’t toss your old bindings. The New Channel M6 uses a standardized hardware size that improves upon performance and ease-of-use, and allows for compatibility with all Burton bindings as well as bindings from select competitors. The included M6 Transition Kit contains everything needed to ride pre-2011 Burton disc and EST bindings with the latest generation of The Channel. The Kit includes two retro discs for compatibility with Burton disc bindings as well as a full set of the M6 Transition hardware for compatibility with both Burton disc and EST bindings.
