Burton Vapor Snowboard Wide 2009: The same snowboard as the original Vapor, but made for those with big feet and big tricks. This is the snowboard that Burton’s designers have lost sleep over, sweating over every last feature, arguing, testing, improving. Their hard work has paid off: Welcome to the 2009 Burton Vapor. With Carbon Vaporskin Lite Construction, this snowboard is as light as smoke. This is the same technology found on space shuttles for ultimate lightness during launch. Imagine how you’ll blast off jumps – you might even escape gravity and spin off into the void. In addition to being ultra-light, the new Pro-Tip technology reduces swing weight to help you rip an extra 180 with ease. If that’s not enough, it will also help you float over feet of fresh powder. The Infinite Channel System is for snowboarders who know how they like to ride; this feature allows for the most specific fine tuning of board to binding on the market, making your ride anchored to comfort. Check out the Burton Vapor Snowboard, your ticket to the ultimate lightweight performance this side of the Alps.
Infinite Channel System: An interface unlike anything else on the market, the ICS offers the ultimate bond between board and binding. Fully compatible with any Burton binding, this simple slot gives you a level of adjustability that no traditional insert pad could ever provide. Fine-tune your stance width with millimeter micro-adjustability, then dial in your toe-to-heel centering with custom precision. For the full effect, link it up with an EST binding and experience the clearest, most cushioned, and comfortable connection to ever see snow. Smooth Ride Technology: Burton’s exclusive dampening technology designed to eliminate chatter. Bothersome vibrations and shock from flat landings are redeemed by the forgiving shock absorbers.
Infinite Ride: Exclusive Pop and Power-enhancing technology. Burton breaks in the board before you buy it by overbuilding it. They also put it on a machine that simulates the conditions the board will encounter during a season on snow. The result is a board that rides the same from the first day forward, allowing you to immediately get out there and rip. Microfinish: The microfinish process involves over 30 individual finishing steps, including a robotic edge tune and detune, which puts the right amount of sharpness and bevel to each board for performance that lasts.
Enduro Waxing Process: After microfinishing, each Burton board is heated up to expand its pores, and then penetrated with a high end melted wax. Then it’s buffed again and ready to ride. Pro-Tipped: New technology dramatically reduces swing weight to help you pull that extra 180. If that’s not enough, the Pro Tip also improves float on powder.
Pressure Distribution Edges: Edges beneath binding area extend out a half-millimeter for tremendous edge hold on hard, icy conditions, while remaining ever playful on soft snow. Rail Ready Edge Tune: The less-catchy tune lets you slide without hang-ups and still get plenty of grip for hitting kickers.
