Burton Custom Flying V Squeezebox Snowboard 2011: Burton likes to compare the power of the Burton Custom Flying V Squeezebox Snowboard to replacing water in your coffee maker with energy drinks, think crazy Four Loko style. Not sure what they are thinking, sounds nuts to us, but something clicked and has changed the game completely! The addition of Squeezebox to the Custom Flying V ™ technology equals a board with a rocker float, camber stability and a thinner core underfoot creating a frighteningly powerful and energetic ride. These designs plus the electrified edge control of Lightning bolts and Frostbite edges makes for a hell of a responsive, poppy and all around amazing ride.
Twin Flex means the board is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that is equally versatile regular or switch, frontside or backside.
The Burton Custom Flying V Squeezebox Snowboard is built with a Super Fly II™ Core. This core is made of stronger and lighter woods that target specific areas of the core to prove, pop, strength and reduced weight.
Carbon I-Beam™ technology is an ultra-light carbon backbone increases pop and longitudinal snap.
Squeezebox, a new design, transfers energy outward from under your feet, energizing the tip and tail for added snap when exiting a turn, ollying and powering through transitions. There are thinner core sections underfoot that transition to thicker and more powerful areas between and outside your feet for a board that can be power-upped with less effort.
Taking V-Rocker to the next level, Flying V™ is a blend of camber and rocker performance, offering the best of both worlds. Rocker overall, including between and outside your feet, enhances the playfulness and float through pow. Subtle camber zones are underfoot, combined with Frostbite Edges, EGD and The Channel for a focus on edge-control that result in crisp, snap, added pop and power through turns.
The Channel (M6) focuses power through a central connection that evenly distributes energy for added rebound and snap. The M6 means that Burton is using a standardized hardware size that improves upon performance and ease-of-use because it allow for compatibility with all Burton bindings.
Dualzone™ EGD™: wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for superior edge hold and added strength.
Frostbite Edges: the edges beneath the bindings extend out slightly for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions. These edges are powerful when you need them and playful when you don’t.
Sintered WFO Base: This technology infuses a specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra absorbent, high-density sintered material that then results in an ultra-durable base that stays WFO (Wide F!#@ing Open) all season long.
The Burton Custom Flying V Squeezebox Snowboard features what Burton calls Lightning Bolts, which are energy transfer strands that make the edges and board more responsive to your will at every movement.
