K2 Burnin Luv Skis - Women's 2011: For expert women skiers looking for an advanced carving tool, the K2 Burnin Luv Ski is the perfect ski. The new Metal Laminate Hybritech sidewall construction and Speed Rocker provide excellent precision and edge grip on hard pack with effortless turn initiation.
Speed Rocker is designed for firmer snow. This slightly elevated tip and increased tip length provide effortless initiation and flawless transitions, while camber along the rest of the running surface delivers race-ski precision, power and edge-hold
Metal Laminate: Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, Metal Laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal Laminates provide damp, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert level skiers
Hybritech Sidewall: This wider waisted construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight and smooth turn initiation of cap construction
Best use: Groomed: 60%, Ungroomed: 40%
All of K2’s women’s skis use a combination of fir and spruce in a unique core known as BioFlex; a process where a dense fir core underfoot is fused with lightweight spruce at the tip and tail to reduce swing weight. With the Alliance’s involvement, K2 developed a technology specific for women: lightweight, easy to maneuver, yet sturdy and high performance
Mod Technology – Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected
Requires a binding brake width between 70mm and 80mm
