Icelantic Shaman Skis 2010: With a truly unique shape and design, the Icelantic Shaman ski balances the skier’s weight allowing a forward, powerful powder turn unlike anything you have ever believed possible. The Shaman is not only wise and intuitive, it also provides excellent maneuverability while its super fat tip rivals even the biggest powder skis in flotation and stability. And don’t be fooled by the wide girth: the Shaman rips the groomers with its aggressive sidecut and torsional rigidity. So go ahead, shed your inner demons and put the Shaman to the test.

Designed as a powder-specific ski, it has a very tapered shape and the most sidecut out of the entire Icelantic series.
Construction
Unilateral fiberglass balances ski flex, and ETLX 2200 Triaxle fiberglass provides phenomenal torsional rigidity. 2.2mm steel edges are thick and strong, and Durasurf 2001 P-TEX sidewalls are extremely durable and facilitate excellent energy transfer.
Flex
Poplar Wood core is lightweight, durable, and poppy, and Unilateral fiberglass balances ski flex.

Co-founder and friend of Icelantic, artist PARR creatively arranges elements in a way that appeals to the senses and emotions. You’ll get lost in a daydream staring at the beautiful graphics as you sit on the chairlift.

Skis in the powder category are wide and most often have some form of rocker or early rise plus a relatively soft flex. Many powder skis today are versatile enough to handle mixed conditions and harder snow. Alpine Touring Also known as backcountry skis, alpine touring (AT) skis are designed for going uphill as well as downhill. These skis are typically light for their width and many feature fittings that accept climbing skins. AT skis vary in width and weight, with the wider heavier versions usually used for winter/deep snow touring and the skinnier, lighter skis usually used for spring/summer/long distance touring.
